Electrical Troubleshooting
Fast, Accurate Diagnosis Across Northern Virginia
Flickering lights, tripping breakers, dead outlets — Ahmad Shaban is a Virginia-licensed Master Electrician who finds the root cause and fixes it the first time. Same-day availability in most of our service area.
What electrical troubleshooting covers
Electrical troubleshooting is diagnostic work. Before anything gets replaced, swapped, or upgraded, someone has to figure out why the circuit isn’t behaving. That’s what Ahmad does — he reads the panel, runs continuity and voltage tests, isolates the problem to a specific circuit or device, and explains what he found before proposing a fix.
Common calls include intermittent breaker trips, flickering lights that aren’t caused by the bulb, outlets that test dead on a multimeter, GFCI outlets that won’t reset, circuits that show voltage but won’t carry load, and aluminum-wiring hot spots. The diagnostic visit itself is the service — if the fix is straightforward (a bad breaker, a loose neutral, a miswired junction box), Ahmad handles it on the spot. If it’s bigger (a panel replacement, a full circuit re-run), you get a written estimate before any additional work starts.
EV Electric Services holds a Master Electrician license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and is fully insured. Ahmad has been doing residential electrical work across Fairfax County and the surrounding region since before opening EV Electric, and troubleshooting is the service line that started the business.

Annandale’s dense residential neighborhoods keep us busy with older panel diagnostics.

About Ahmad Shaban, Master Electrician
Ahmad holds a Master Electrician license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia — the highest electrician credential the state issues. He earned it after several years of journeyman work and a passed state exam. EV Electric Services is fully insured, and Ahmad runs a maintenance team so scheduling doesn’t bottleneck on one person.
Ahmad is on the job site for most residential calls. He does the assessment, explains what he finds, and handles the work himself. You’re not getting a subcontractor you’ve never met — you’re getting the Master Electrician whose name is on the license. Our shop is at 9488 Fairfax Blvd, physically inside the City of Fairfax.
